This is a picture of our house along with the sod we put down last summer
We built a patio along with a fire pit in the back yard. This table is a Pinterest find made out of two pallets. Its super easy to build and very durable for the outside weather!
Headboard for Guest Bedroom |
This headboard was a very fun and simple project. However, the stain process was an adventure. Between tea, white paint, vinegar, steel wool, and a little bit of actually stain the color came out perfect!
(This isn't a really good picture)
We finished the basement. Used Tin for the ceiling and made a light out of a wagon wheel. Of course we had to figure out a way to rust new metal. FYI acid and hydrogen peroxide will do the trick. (wear gloves!!)
I found the old barn door sliding door on Pinterest and had to have one! I am one lucky girl to have suck an awesome husband who loves projects as much as me!
I loved the idea of painting our bricked stamped concrete basement walls to look like actually bricks but could not find a way to do it other than painting each individual brick. Which would take forever! After a few hours of researching, I finally found a blog that explained how it could be done. Thankfully, I know a Wonderful painter (my father in law) who was up for the challenge one Saturday evening.
The test trail in the storage room. Notice the grey on the right side is what it looked like before
It was so amazing how much the pop of color changed the entire look of the basement.
This is a before and after shot of the basement.
We absolutely love our basement. The next project will be a Bar. Any ideas??
In between the chaos of all of our house projects, a new addition was added to the family. Our amazing nephew Rowan Walker Searcy was born on December 28, 2012.
Everything is wonderful! You are blessed with a family who knows how to create your vision.
